Baked Overnight Apple French Toast
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 T maple syrup
1 loaf french bread, sliced
5 eggs
1.5 cup half & half or milk
1 t vanilla
1/2 T cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
1 can apple pie filling
1 apple, chopped
Directions
Melt butter, sugar and syrup. Remove from heat and stir in pie filling and apples. Pour into greased 9x13 pan.
Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and spices. Dip bread slices in milk mixture. Arrange on top of apples in pan in single layer.
Pour remaining milk mixture over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 30-50 minutes until lightly browned. Let set for a few minutes before serving.
