About

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth … and by the seventh day, He was famished; so He made a quiche.”

Like many ideas, be they good or just in poor taste, this site started as a concept that would invite people to participate in sharing family recipes with a new and expanding circle of brethren. The two who are responsible for this web site had just been married, which brought together two families who both share an affinity for the love of food. It also was something that gave the one who designed and coded everything something to do as his new wife supported him in a foreign country because he couldn’t legally work there.

What’s in a name? Everything! “Flavour Saviour” is just a whimsical play on words that cracked us up when we came up with it. I mean, who else will save you from starvation other than our holy Lord himself? Why not a recipe web site then? Not to mention, there was a large potential for coming up with such cheeky – some might say cheesy – lines like that last one which can only make one groan with amusement.

One thing about it; Americans and Australians have a hard time agreeing on the correct spelling of certain words. A prime example is the name of this site; Americans would spell the two words as “flavor” and “savior,” while Aussies would spell it “flavour” and “saviour.” Those pesky “U’s” can be a real pain in the butt when developing a site. At this point, we use the English spelling of the words, but have plans for future development which may take into account from which country your dialing in from.

All in all, we hope that you find this web site a helpful resource and even have a little fun in the process of exploring through it. We’ve had a good time putting it together and are pleased with the end result. So have a squiz at what’s on here, and let us know what you think. We hope to see you back real soon.

“AMEN!”
